Linda
The Bendable Doll

Linda dolls are look-alike Flatsys. They are not made by Ideal, though. Rather, they are marked "Made in Hong Kong" on their back. Remember, they do not have the Ideal "stamp" or "imprint" on their back! They come on a 6" x 7 1/2" cardboard card with a background amusement park theme.

Linda dolls look the most like Ideal Flatsys of all of the Flatsy knockoffs. They are the same size as a medium Ideal Flatsy and even have the holes in the back of the body, hands, and legs. They all have black eyes with blue painted where the whites of the eyes are. The hair is rooted just as Ideal's Flatsys are. Their shoes are similar as well.

There are some differences, though. The molded panties of some Linda dolls have dots instead of stripes. The vinyl isn't finished nearly as well -- you can sometimes see bits of the mold around the fingers and wrists. The vinyl seems a bit more translucent, as does the vinyl of their shoes. The facial paint isn't as thick -- giving them far less blush than the Ideal Flatsys. Everything seems basically cheaper -- not as sturdy.

If you don't have them side by side, though, it's really tough to tell the difference! There is one definite way though: Only the Ideal dolls have the Ideal imprint on their back!

See a Linda doll!
